The Media industry is living a phase of rapid change and the television offering is going far beyond the traditional programming distributed through free analog channels.
The need of our client – one of the major private television groups in Italy and Europe – was to address this market dynamic by renewing its information systems to support a more articulated and flexible rights management model and be able to support multi-channel and multi-platform content distribution, from analog to DTT, from subscription-based premium services to Pay Per View, from VOD to Internet streaming, from movie rental to merchandising, up to media usage on transportation means such as trains, airplanes, etc.
The implemented system, based on the OnAir package from SintecMedia - one of the market leaders in the Broadcast Management Software space - allows to manage the rights management and the scheduling processes in an integrated fashion, therefore enabling to control content usage and maximize content exploitation.
Among the areas of involvement of the FINCONS GROUP, which took part to the initiative from the initial analysis phase up the final project go-live and was chosen thanks to its deep knowledge of the segment (more than 15 years of experience in the Media sector) and the proven technical excellence, it is of particular relevance the complete package personalization implemented through the “customization layer” provided by the OnAir platform, which allowed FINCONS to develop product-specific skills.
During IBC 2008 - the most important European event in the media and broadcasting industry recently hold in Amsterdam - FINCONS has been hosted by its partner SintecMedia and the project experience was discussed with several prospect clients with very positive feedbacks.
