Fincons’ implementation, integration, and maintenance services on IBM Planning Analytics application for Swiss Re
The challenge
Swiss Re, an international leader in the reinsurance market, was looking for a partner that could manage implementation, integration, maintenance and user support for the IBM Planning Analytics application.
The Company had acquired this product to manage activities such as:
- defining of objectives through the simulation of different scenarios;
- collecting the analytical bottom-up budget of the individual Business Units;
- group-wide consolidation and elimination of intercompany post;
- the calculation and presentation of Cash report flows, Balance Sheets and KPIs starting with the Income Statement;
- forecasting.
Swiss Re selected Fincons for their proven expertise in insurance, their structured approach and customer focus.
The solution
To provide this service, Fincons put in place a Competence Center of over ten skilled resources, consisting of IT architects, technical consultants and developers that, thanks to a flexible and scalable approach can either operate remotely or at the customer's offices depending on the specifications’ needs. This method ensures that high quality is delivered at a competitive cost.
The team took charge of both the set-up and the fully operational management of the application in a dynamic and challenging context in which business infrastructure is constantly evolving.
On the basis of an ongoing and fruitful relationship that started in 2015 and that continues with full force today, the Fincons team was able to effectively support Swiss Re providing application stability and managing the evolutionary interventions requested by business users in a timely fashion.
In order to support the customer even better, Fincons has also invested in the skills of its team and has become an accredited IBM Official Business Partner.
The benefits
The Competence Center currently manages over 200 application users and more than 16 million of records that the application exchanges daily with the company’s legacy systems for planning that has now evolved from a traditional system to Extended Planning & Analysis.
