Watchman

For the development of hub expertise and experimentation of Artificial Intelligence.

WATCHMAN aims to develop a hub of expertise and experimentation for the application of Artificial Intelligence techniques in Machine Vision in the manufacturing sector. To this end,  the project will set up two demonstrators in which advanced deep-learning techniques will be applied to the analysis of images and the recognition of defects in products at the end of the production process, increasing the level of quality.

The hub will be based on the development of demonstration prototypes of basic technology modules, specifically on the development of two industrial use cases in Pharma and Automotive, priority sectors for this technology. These industrial use cases will demonstrate the effectiveness of Computer Vision techniques and their impact on both product quality and labour productivity, two of the issues defined as priorities in Pw's study.

The Intellimech Consortium is the project leader, with seven other partners: Brembo, Fincons, Salf Laboratorio Farmacologico, Smart Robots, SorintLab, Università degli Studi di Bergamo, Vision.

The project was launched in February 2020 and will end in July 2022 and has a total value of € 6,601,061, of which € 2,970,099 will be co-financed by the Lombardy Region under the Call Hub Research and Innovation through POR-FESR 2014-2020 funds.
