Fincons Group and the Silvanus project for Tepilora park

A first positive assessment was made for Silvanus, the project financed by the European Horizon 2020 Green Deal program which aims to create a platform for sustainable and resilient forest management, in the meeting held in Bitti (Nuoro, Italy) to talk about fire prevention and best practice management in the territories of the Tepilora Park area and illustrate the technological approach taken by the consortium for the Silvanus project.

The Silvanus project aims to prevent wildfires, allow an effective use of forest resources, and regenerate the landscape, providing protection against global fire threats.

As illustrated by Italian pilot project leader, Fincons, the technological tools developed within the platform contribute to the objective of effectively controlling forest resources, measuring biodiversity, producing more precise fire risk indicators and disseminating knowledge of safety regulations among the local population through awareness campaigns. These activities are structured in three phases: prevention, fire detection, and rehabilitation of affected forest areas.

Participants in the Silvanus project belong to different associations and the results confirm the importance of teamwork to raise awareness of the issue and prevent forest fires.
