Fincons joins Parent Project to support research and families living with muscular dystrophy

Fincons Group is supporting Parent Project, an association of over 20,000 individuals including families, volunteers, clinicians, and researchers who support patients and parents with children affected by Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy, aggressive and milder forms of the same rare neurodegenerative condition.

On March 2nd, the "Parent Night Live" event took place at the Odeon cinema in Vigevano (PV). It was an evening of fundraising and awareness shared with all the association’s supporters. Fincons joined the event, which featured guests from the world of sports, music, and entertainment taking turns on stage. Among these the iconic MotoGP commentator Guido Meda, singer-songwriter Davide De Marinis, and comedian Sergio Sgrilli.

With the funds raised, the association will support medical research to better understand the condition and develop new diagnostic methods and therapeutic strategies; to provide listening centres to provide psychological, social, and educational support to families as well as raise awareness among the public and institutions.

It is also thanks to initiatives like this that Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy can be treated with increasingly effective therapies that slow its progression and improve patients' quality of life today.
